The Kenya Landscape Actors Platform (KenLAP) a not-for-profit platform that is affiliated to the Kenya Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry (https://environment.go.ke/). It was established to coordinate and unite landscape actors in Kenya for effective and sustainable landscape management. KenLAP addresses the critical challenges of environmental degradation, food insecurity, and climate change by fostering collaboration among government agencies, NGOs, local communities, and private sector partners. Through integrated landscape management, the platform aims to create resilient and productive ecosystems, benefitting both people and nature.
KenLAP operates as a convening mechanism, centralizing efforts to harmonize policies, mobilize resources, and drive collective action toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It brings together diverse stakeholders working in agriculture, water management, forestry, and environmental restoration to implement sustainable solutions at scale.
These sectors are vital to landscape management, each playing a role in shaping sustainable practices and resource management across different landscapes.
KenLAP focuses on managing various types of landscapes to ensure environmental sustainability and community well-being.
KenLAP targets key areas to drive sustainable development and landscape restoration across Kenya.
